Our swimming pool is 18,000 litres in size so it’s more for relaxing and cooling off than actually swimming. Of course, if you are into aqua aerobics, then it’s just perfect. There are four sun loungers to use around the pool, and the blue towels provided on your arrival are for use around the pool. The blue towels can be taken to the beach, but if they are sandy on your return, please let us replace them with fresh towels for you, rather than taking them into the room.
For serious swimming you can check out our lovely beaches nearby in the dry season. This article is a rundown of the best local beaches whilst this article addresses some safety issues. If you are interested to visit beaches north of Khao Lak, this article has some useful information.
In the rainy season, if you’d like to swim, you can buy a 500 baht day pass (300 baht for children) for the pools at The Hot Spring Beach Resort and Spa on North Natai Beach (10 mins drive from Natai Garden Retreat) which entitles you to use their very large pool, two hot spring pools and an iced water plunge pool.
The day pass is valid from 8am to 7pm and includes free parking, locker, access to change room and a pool towel. There is a good restaurant on site where you can have lunch as well as a poolside bar.
Another 10 minutes further up the coast is The Lake -Ta Teang swimming basin near the turn-off to Tha Sai Beach. It’s a deep lake that was once a tin mine. It’s been a popular free swimming spot for locals for many years and is perfect for swimming in the rainy season because the water is always calm (as well as being crystal clear). There is a shallow sandy area near the shore for not-so-confident swimmers but be aware there are no lifeguards or supervision, so it’s not a good idea to swim there if you are on your own and there are no other people around.
